About Us

We are a small-scale family farm in Hempstead, TX, organically growing seasonal vegetables. We have 10 acres but are growing on only 1/8th of an acre. We only use the sun, compost, water, and farming practices that improve soil health to grow our vegetables.

Our Story

Our farming journey starts with an interest and desire for better health and connection and finding a lifestyle that supports those needs.

Christina and Paul picked up the hobby of gardening and growing their own food in 2019 while living in the northwest side of Houston. Neither had an agricultural background. Christina works as a physician assistant and Paul worked as a mechanical engineer for 10+ years before leaving his job to pursue working for a music venue.

When the pandemic hit, Paul was furloughed from work for a long time and both him and Christina started volunteering with two nonprofit organizations, Plant It Forward and Hope Farms. They started following other homesteaders and became inspired. This led to building 6 raised beds in their backyard.

After raised beds, Paul built a chicken coop and they got chickens.

And from there, they created in-ground beds, built more raised beds, and transformed their backyard into an urban homestead.

They were hooked on the lifestyle and the joy that comes with growing your own food. The only natural thing left to do was continue..

So they made the decision to sell their house in the city. They bought a property in Hempstead, TX after searching for 3+ years. What started as a backyard garden in the city has turned into a small-scale farming business within an hour from Houston.

Paul and Christina are dedicated to connecting with and serving their community, supporting other farmers and small businesses, and sharing their experiences in order to educate, inspire and bring understanding to others of where food comes from.

We currently sell our seasonal harvest at a weekly farmers market.
